You don’t have to be a fashion guru to know how to dress for a trade show or conference, but ladies, here are a few pointers to make sure you avoid the biggest mistakes:
High, High Heels
Save these for the after-hour cocktails, but don’t torture yourself with stilettos during the long hours of a trade show.
Whether sheer, black, or printed, stay away from these inhibiting and – at times inappropriate – pieces.
This includes large, overbearing earrings (think: hoops) and any kind of jewelry that may embarrass the company you are representing. Your friendship bracelet from third grade falls in this category.
You might think you smell great, but potential buyers may think otherwise. Don’t scare away prospects and keep it light when applying: dab only on your wrists and behind your ears.
