National Research Corporation has acquired Digital Assent, an Atlanta-based health technology company. Financial details were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009, Digital Assent is perhaps best known as the maker of PatientPad, an award-winning technology that helps doctors capture real-time feedback from patients at the point of care. The Atlanta startup has raised $12 million in two rounds since founding, most recently closing a $10 million Series B led by BIP Capital and Sanan Private Equity, including $2.5 million from Silicon Valley Bank.
Headquartered in Lincoln, Neb., National Research Corporation is a publicly traded company focused on patient satisfaction. Their survey and analysis tools help healthcare providers identify strengths, address areas of opportunity and design measurable improvement plans.
As part of the acquisition announcement, National Research rolled out Reputation, an online solution that enables healthcare organizations to publish physician reviews online. National Research says the Reputation solution, which was built by Digital Assent, will provide a more accurate picture of a physician’s reputation using a larger sample size and more reliable feedback than can be found on existing third-party physician rating websites.
“National Research is a trusted source of healthcare consumer data and thought leadership in the minds of hospital marketers and health system leaders,” said Digital Assent founder and CEO Andy Ibbotson in a company press release. “Because of their comprehensive portfolio of consumer-focused solutions, we knew National Research would be the best partner to guide and support future development of this solution.”
