In its 14th year, the Venture Atlanta conference is an annual venture conference connecting 30 to 40 startups headquartered in Georgia to investors who travel from across the country to attend the two-day event. This year, the organization is extending applications to startups based in the Southeast.
“National investors have come to expect the highest caliber companies to present at the conference,” said Allyson Eman, executive director of Venture Atlanta. “While Atlanta continues its prominence among startup hubs in the region, we recognize the growth in technology innovation in the Southeast as a whole and want to showcase the region’s most promising emerging tech companies to these investors,” she added.
Over the course of its 14-year history, the organization has grown in stature and prominence among venture conferences in the Southeast. To date, companies that have presented at Venture Atlanta have collectively raised $1.5 billion in capital. There have also been notable exits among past presenting companies.
Applications to present are being accepted online until August 14, 2015. The stated criteria listed by Venture Atlanta are: early stage and high growth technology companies located in Georgia or the Southeast seeking to raise capital in the next 12 to 18 months.
There is no fee to apply or to present if selected but potential applicants can expect stiff competition. Only 30 companies will be selected to take the stage. According to a news release by the organization, companies that are selected will receive “exposure to the entire technology ecosystem, unparalleled mentoring and coaching, access to local and out-of-state venture fund groups through one on one meetings, as well as marketing and public relations counsel and support.”
“The conference was a great opportunity for Springbot to connect with potential investors and was instrumental in our ability to raise the capital needed to continue accelerating our business,” said Brooks Robinson, co-founder and CEO of Springbot and a past Venture Atlanta presenter.
Venture Atlanta 2015 will be held at the Georgia Aquarium on October 20 and 21, 2015. Successful applicants will be notified no later than August 26, 2015.
